Imagine your product being the star, grabbing the attention of a customer who didn't expect to find it.
But to make sales, you need to learn how to list products on Amazon.
Whether you're experienced or new, follow along in this guide to create a listing for your product. There are different ways to add a product, and we'll cover a few.
Step 1: Open Helium 10’s Listing Builder
Begin by signing in to your Helium 10 account and finding the Listing Builder tool. You can usually locate it in the suite of tools offered by Helium 10.
In the Listing Builder, you'll see two options. You can start a new listing or improve an existing one. For this tutorial, let's select the option to create a new listing from scratch.
Next, pick the marketplace where you want to make the listing and include a product ASIN. After hitting Start Building, you can start putting together a list of keywords.
Step 2: Build Your Keyword Bank
A keyword bank is a collection of keywords that you should aim to include in your listing to increase visibility. You can input competitor ASINs to receive keyword suggestions or manually add keywords if you've saved them elsewhere.
Based on the plan and the screenshot provided, we can add up to 1000 keywords, as seen in the right-hand corner. Ensure you include your selected keywords, hopefully gathered from Cerebro and Magnet.
Step 3: Enter Your Product Details for AI Generation
Here's how it works: Enter your product details like characteristics, brand name, where you want the brand name in the title, product name, tone, target audience, and any words or characters to avoid. Click "Write for Me" to let the tool use keywords and phrases to create a starting point. You can then edit it until you're happy.
Step 4: Use the Color-Coded Keyword Bank
Wondering about the colors? Words on the left are sorted by search volume and frequency. Hotter tones are high-demand, while cooler tones are less in demand. All words are good options, so try to use as many as possible.
Check the Listing Analyzer below to see your listing's reach and meet Amazon best practices.
Click "Sync," and your listing uploads to Seller Central. It's that simple!
The second option is manual upload to Seller Central.
Step 1: Log in to Amazon Seller Central, and Click on 'Add a Product'
After logging in, go to "Inventory" and choose "Add a Product" from the drop-down menu.
Alternatively, you can choose the Inventory tab and click on Add a Product in the top right-hand corner.
Upon doing this, you'll be directed to the following page. Click on "I'm adding a product not sold on Amazon" to go to a page where you can enter attributes.
Step 2: Choose Your Product Category
Provide a name for your item, and Amazon will suggest a suitable product type or category for your product. With Amazon offering a broad range of categories, you should have several options for your merchandise.
Step 3: Fill in Your Product Details
Enter thorough information about your product, such as its title, description, key features, and any other pertinent details. Ensure your descriptions are clear and accurate to improve customer comprehension.
Determine the selling price for your product and specify the available quantity. Consider costs, competition, and market demand to establish a price that is both competitive and profitable.
Additionally, assign a unique Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) to distinguish your product within your inventory. If your product has a recognized product identifier, such as a UPC, EAN, or ISBN, enter it to ensure accurate identification when customers place orders.
Step 4: Upload Product Images
Move on to the second tab, where you can upload images. The images are divided into those already live on Amazon (if any) and the remaining slots available. Typically, you have nine slots to fill. Utilize these slots wisely, as providing more information to your customers enhances their understanding of your product. Remember, you have limited space to convince potential buyers, so make the most of what you're given.
Improve Your Product Presentation with High-Quality Images
Boost your product listing by uploading top-notch images that are not only persuasive but also effective on their own. Imagine your customer only looks at your images – would they have enough information to make a purchase decision?
Include clear and attractive visuals, infographics, and lifestyle shots to significantly engage customers and potentially improve conversion rates. Aim for a diverse range of photos that showcase your product in the best possible light.
Move to the next tab to specify whether your product is new or used and address safety and compliance considerations.
For safety information, provide details such as the need for batteries, suitability for children, and any safety certifications your product holds. Compliance certifications are essential for products in specific categories, requiring documentation for safety, adherence to regulations, or meeting quality standards.
If your product includes hazardous materials, following Amazon’s hazmat regulations and providing accurate information is crucial for your listing to go active. Different Amazon categories may have specific requirements, so regularly check for updates to Amazon’s policies and regulations to ensure your product listings consistently meet platform standards.
Enhance the discoverability of your product listing by incorporating relevant keywords and search terms.
If you choose to add a product to an existing listing, start by copying the ASIN of the product you intend to sell.
Step 1: Get the ASIN of Your Product
If you're selling a product on Amazon, start by copying the ASIN (Amazon Standard Identification Number) of the product you want to sell.
Step 2: Go to 'Catalog' and 'Add Products' in Amazon Seller Central
Log in to your Seller Central account, go to 'Catalog,' and click on 'Add Products.'
Step 3: Select the Item Condition
Choose whether your product is new, collectible, or used, and click 'Sell this product.'
Step 4: Enter Product Details
In the offer or vital info tab, enter information about your product, such as product categories, key features, images, product ID (like a UPC code), manufacturer's suggested retail price, fulfillment channel, and more.
Once you've filled out the page, click "Save and Finish."
The process is quite simple. Before publishing your product listing, double-check all information for accuracy. You can edit it later if necessary. You can always go back and edit as needed.
