  • One Supplier: Building a strong relationship with one key supplier improved sourcing efficiency.

  • One Platform: Operating exclusively on one platform reduced complexity and streamlined processes.

This focused strategy led to significant results. By honing in on a single niche and category, I saw a marked increase in sales, hitting my first $10,000 milestone within just one month. This success allowed me to scale my business effectively, gain confidence, leave my previous job, and spend more quality time with my family while still maintaining financial stability.

A major factor in this success was selecting the right platform. I chose Amazon FBA because it offered accessible entry conditions and an efficient seller system. Amazon FBA handles order fulfillment and logistics, allowing sellers to focus on growing their businesses.

    • Explore Broadly: I begin by reviewing a wide range of product options, gathering various ideas, and compiling a list of potential products without initially restricting myself to any specific category.

    • Evaluate Individually: Each product is assessed on its own merits to determine profitability and to avoid those that might lead to financial losses if invested in.

    • Assess Product Qualities: I ensure that potential products have the essential qualities needed to outperform competitors and succeed in the market.

  2. Choose Your Business Model
    Decide whether you will be reselling existing products from other brands or creating and selling your own branded products.
    When I first started, I focused on reselling products from various brands. I faced intense competition, often competing with up to 60 other sellers for a single listing, which led to price wars and squeezed my profit margins.
    Switching to selling my own brand allowed me to avoid direct competition for listings, as my products were unique to my brand. This shift meant that competition was no longer a concern, and I could concentrate on product selection based on criteria relevant to my specific business model.
    Aligning your product research with your chosen business model is crucial to minimize competition and maximize profitability.


Focusing on What Truly Matters

Finding a profitable product is just the beginning of your Amazon success journey. While discovering lucrative opportunities is vital, thriving in the competitive e-commerce world involves a strategic and patient approach.

Here’s how to effectively prioritize and manage your business activities:

Embrace Patience

Real business growth requires patience. Many new sellers expect immediate results, but significant success builds over time. For example, earning $1 per sale with stable monthly sales of 100 units results in $1,200 annually. Multiply that by 100 products, and you could achieve $120,000 per year. Sustainable growth comes from consistent effort and a long-term vision. Patience is key to building a successful and profitable business.

Select the Right Business Model

Choosing between reselling and private labeling can impact your business strategy significantly. Reselling involves listing existing products on Amazon, which can be simpler and requires less initial investment. However, private labeling, where you create and brand your own products, offers advantages in terms of long-term automation and reduced ongoing engagement. Leverage Automation and Outsourcing

To maximize efficiency, utilize tools and services that streamline your operations:

  • Product Research: Use analytical tools to gather accurate data on potential products, saving time and making informed decisions.

  • Crafting Listings: Creating effective product listings can be time-consuming. Consider using services that provide SEO-optimized listings to enhance product visibility without extensive keyword research.

  • Packing and Shipping: Choose Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) to handle packing and shipping, simplifying warehouse management and reducing the need for additional storage space. FBA allows you to focus on other aspects of your business while Amazon manages logistics.
